Penny Fitzgerald and her husband, Jeff, enjoyed a “free” trip to the Napa Valley in the fall of 2004. Sixteen cases and 7 wine clubs later, it was obvious – they had been bitten by the wine bug! Penny later became a Director and Independent Wine Consultant with The Traveling Vineyard®, where she has built a team of Independent Consultants who conduct in-home wine tastings, market wine and teach hosts and guests wine appreciation, etiquette, and food and wine pairing ideas.
Since becoming a wine consultant in the spring of 2006, Penny’s motto has been “So much wine, so little time,” and she has consistently earned the distinction of being in the Top 10 Traveling Vineyard consultants in the country in personal marketing and activity. She has earned incentive trips to Santa Cruz, Puerto Vallarta, Tuscany, and Napa; and also enjoyed receiving the Innovative Business Award from the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce.
Penny has presented at The Traveling Vineyard’s annual conventions, offering training and motivation for other leaders and consultants in the field, and has also been a guest speaker for numerous wine festivals and organizations across Iowa.
